Education and Training

Education and training programs for landscape visualization and modeling are offered at various levels of users focusing on the appropriate use of the visualization instruments. Experts will gain the competence for assessing the new techniques in terms of their options and limits in supporting communication in the planning process.

LVML 1- Interdisciplinary Tools of Landscape Planning and Design
This lab introduces new combinations of tools and workflows for an interdisciplinary approach of landscape planning and design. Terrestrial Landscape Scanner, Point cloud filtering, and GIS-based 3D landscape visualization are used for creating concepts for landscape change. The results of these interventions are again analyzed in order to proof their intended positive impact.

LVML 2 - 3D GIS-Based Landscapes for Participative Planning
GIS-based 3D landscape visualization and modeling for participatory planning of landscape development. Presentation of concepts, methods and techniques in 3D visualization and their application in participatory planning workshops. Focus on visual principles, software training as well as setting up and conducting workshops in which 3D visualizations are applied.
